The China Sea Race, a popular event that attracts competitors from all over the world with over a distance of 1047 km (565 nautical miles), sets sail from Hong Kong this summer.

Jun Avecilla, Commodore of the Subic Bay Yacht Club, has announced that the 2010 China Sea Race from Hong Kong will finish in Subic Bay with the aim of making the fastest time to the Freeport zone.
Avecilla said that the China Sea |Race would be followed by four days of inshore racing in Subic Bay under the banner of the Commodore’s Cup 2010.
This regatta will replace the President’s Cup, formerly organized by the Manila Yacht Club.
Racing will be hosted by Subic Bay SAGS (Saturday Afternoon Gentleman’s Sailing) and the Subic Bay Yacht Club, with the experienced hand of Jerry Rollin at the helm.
This event will be held in the beautiful environment of Subic Bay, where the pristine blue water is ruffled only by the steady winds from the northeast, and the wake of the racing yachts.
Subic Bay is an ideal spot to finish the China Sea Race, being a superb natural harbor protected from the China Sea.
In the Subic Bay Freeport, there is the large marina of the Subic Bay Yacht Club with facilities nearby for maintaining and pulling out yachts if required. Many hotels and restaurants, and the Filipinos’ legendary hospitality, provide a welcome for visiting crews.
